One Tree Gives So Much

After a powerful wind storm recently, I didn't have to venture far before I found a large and quite old downed Pinon tree. This magnificent tree, in particular, has given me so much, and I am deeply grateful. From it, I will be able to harvest, Usnea (Old Man's Beard), Pinon Sap, Utah Juniper needles and Pinon needles.

This one tree, on his way down took out a larger branch of a neighboring Pinon and a large branch of Utah Juniper. The wood is strong and useful, and I will be able to give it to someone who needs it.

Being able to give this tree and these fallen branches a new life, allows me to honor the forest. Nothing is wasted, and in the cycle of giving, I am reminded of natures quiet generosity.
